BVW R3 “Beast Rush”

For round 3 we were given more creative freedom over our platform but with the constraint of less time…

This “lightning” round challenge was to make a game in 1 week and we had the option to choose between Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Pads, Tobii eye trackers, Jam-O-Drum, 3D Rudder, Phidgets, and previously used platforms.

My group chose to use the DDR pads and knew from the beginning we wanted to challenge guests through a racing game. We pitched for our platform and idea and were accepted and able to begin designing.

I co-produced with the incredible Ye and we were able to navigate the rapid design process needed to complete the round through great communication and frequent check-ins.

I used a pre-made logic song for the background music editing it to fit the desert theme of the world and edited lots of sound effects for the animal racing characters and the environment.

Game Synopsis: Challenge your friends to play Beast Rush, a desert racing game that keeps you on your toes literally! Follow a sequence of steps on the DDR pad that allow your animal to move forward and race to the finish line.
